About This Course
Primary Healthcare II develops students’ competence in applying community-based nursing principles to priority health needs across different population groups and settings. The course addresses maternal and child health, school health services, care of older adults, occupational health, prevention of harmful traditional practices, and other essential areas of community care. Students will learn to assess health needs, plan preventive and promotive interventions, provide appropriate nursing services, and strengthen community participation. Emphasis is placed on early intervention, health education, referral, continuity of care, and the nurse’s responsibility for improving equitable access to quality primary healthcare services.
