About This Course

Primary Healthcare II advances nursing students’ understanding of community-based approaches to meeting the health needs of individuals, families, and populations. The course explores essential components of primary healthcare, including disease prevention, health promotion, maternal and child health, immunization, nutrition, environmental health, community participation, and management of common health problems. Students will learn to assess community needs, plan appropriate interventions, support continuity of care, and strengthen access to essential health services. Particular attention is given to equity, culturally appropriate care, interprofessional collaboration, and the nurse’s contribution to improving health outcomes at community level.
