About This Course
Medical-Surgical Nursing I prepares students to care for adults experiencing a range of health problems that require medical or surgical intervention. The course examines core medical-surgical concepts, diagnostic measures, conditions that threaten normal adaptation, infectious diseases, operating-room nursing, and rehabilitation. Students will learn to assess patients, interpret relevant clinical findings, plan and deliver appropriate nursing care, prevent complications, and evaluate patient responses. Through the application of the nursing process and sound clinical judgement, the course strengthens students’ ability to provide safe, coordinated, evidence-informed, and compassionate care across medical and surgical settings.
