About This Course
Health Economics examines how limited resources are allocated to meet the health needs of individuals and populations. The course introduces students to economic principles underlying healthcare delivery, Nigeria’s economy and national health policy, healthcare financing and insurance, and the economic forces affecting access to services. Students will develop an understanding of how costs, resources, policy decisions, and financing arrangements influence healthcare delivery, health outcomes, equity, and the sustainability of health systems.
